Art/Choir/Band
FINE ARTS
The Fine Arts Department of Castle Hills First Baptist School is strong and vibrant. Our courses are taught by teachers who are trained in the respective areas, as well as who have experience in teaching at the grade levels.
ART
Art is taught beginning in elementary and advances to high school where we have a master art teacher for advanced levels. Elementary through high school students compete in art festivals for ACSI, and high school additionally competes in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) art competition.

CHOIR
Music is a vital part of the Fine Arts program, and our choir program shines from elementary to the Varsity (High School) level. The Varsity Choir for 2010–2011 placed 1st in the Texas Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) 1A schools choir competition.

BAND
The CHFBS Band Program begins in the 5th grade with the Beginner Band. The program continues through the Middle School band, and we are looking to re-start the High School band program in the 2012–2013 school year. The bands are active and play in concerts throughout the year, including our highly esteemed Veterans' Day program, Christmas concert, and end of year concerts.

THEATER ARTSMIDDLE SCHOOL
The theater arts program is active at the middle school level and provides an additional outlet for students to express their God given talents. Students participate in skits, programs, chapels and may also perform a full length drama.

- Develop perceptual and creative expression skills.
- Develop and organize ideas from the environment to create art work.
- Express ideas through original art works using a variety of media with appropriate skill.

- Express their creative understanding of music through vocal performance and worship.
- Be introducedto the history and culture of music and develop and appreciation of choral music.

- Develop leadership abilities by becoming diligent, taking responsibility and cooperating with other students.
- Develop the ability to make musical value judgments through critical listening.
- Gain an understanding of music theory and proper instrumental technique.

- Developtheir voices by participating in dialogues, monologues, skits, role-playing, and storytelling.
- Understand the need for effective evaluation and the merits of correct and useful criticism.
- Understand the history of the theater and stage.
- Examine the religious elements that have contributed to theater through the years.
